about... your smartheart

Your SmartHeart was founded by Bridget Drolshagen in May of 2007, but she was using her own SmartHeart long before then. After a promising high school career and a first-semester college transfer that caused more than its fair share of furrowed brows and questioning peers, Bridget became determined to shed candid light on a generation of young adults whose “age of opportunity” was all too often… falling flat.

In the midst of falling flat herself, Bridget attended four colleges in three different states, pursued two different degrees (one of which she finally settled on), lived in five different neighborhoods, and maintained zero regrets.

The idea of utilizing one’s SmartHeart is driven by the idea that the Millennial Generation – 20-somethings in particular – habitually adhere to the proverbial walls that surround their lives while abandoning the internal intuition and core values that they already inherently possess.

In other words, Your SmartHeart is the part of you that really likes to kick butt and take names.

Bridget spent two years of intensive training in Columbia College Chicago’s Professional Writing program. She went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree in Coaching and Business from State University of New York, and is currently completing a Personal Development Coaching certification degree from the ICF-accredited International Coaching Academy. Bridget has received awards and honors for her speaking, and is a speech state title holder. Her vocational experience includes writing for the National Restaurant Association, McCormick Tribune Foundation, Enhanced Performance Training/Coaching, Liquidebt Systems, Inc., and University Chic.

Bridget now resides in Chicago, IL where she spends her time writing, youth and 20-something coaching, and speaking.
